"I have always thought that getting involved in my local community was important, but volunteering at OVH opened so many new doors for me. It's an experience every teen should have."

Help others, have fun, and make our community healthier

As a non-profit public hospital, Oak Valley relies heavily on the generosity of our volunteer base. Oak Valley volunteers are an integral component of our team, improving patient care and service quality across all departments:

W a y s    t o    V o l u n t e e r

Aid in patient comfort by serving meals and beverages.

Man the information desk in the hospital lobby.

Many clerical details are handled by our volunteers.

Manage the hospital gift shop, where all proceeds go to scholarship.

Adult Volunteers
Anyone looking for a rewarding, community-oriented way to spend their time is welcome to apply for our volunteer staff. Volunteer should have a sense of humor, a heerful disposition, and an earnest desire to help others.

Those interested in volunteering can download and complete this application, and then mail it to 350 South Oak Avenue, Oakdale, CA 95361. After we receive your application, we will schedule you for an interview and find the perfect place for you on our team.

For more information on volunteering, please call the Oak Valley Gift Shop at 848-4170, or email giftshop@OVHD.com.

Junior Volunteers
Young people between the ages of 14 and 17 who maintain a 3 point grade average or better at one of the schools in the area served by Oak Valley Hospital are encouraged to join up and become part of our Junior Volunteer Squad.

Junior volunteers work in both the Care Center and the hospital complex, and can work in the Gift Shop after completing a specialized 1 day training program that offers instruction on communicating with and providing for the healthcare needs of Oak Valley patients.

The Oak Valley Junior Volunteer Squad provides an excellent opportunity for teenagers to understand more about the healthcare industry, as well as how to provide professional and comforting care for patients of all ages.

Young people interested in volunteering must complete an application form with their parents, obtain a letter of recommendation from a school counselor, and provide a GPA transcript. Applications forms may be picked up and returned at the Oak Valley Gift Shop in the main hospital lobby.

Oak Valley Gift Shop

Located just off the main lobby, the 100% volunteer staffed and managed Oak Valley Gift Shop is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 12 noon to 4 p.m. Flowers, baby gifts, books, snacks and a multitude of other gift items are available.
