Oak Valley Hospital District is currently seeking a dynamic Assistant Healthcare Worker for our Occupational Health department at our Oakdale clinic. This individual must have a passion for nursing excellence and be willing to provide outstanding patient and family supported care.

Provides clerical support and assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician or a Registered Nurse. Performs specific clerical duties, coordinates departmental communications and provides administrative support to Management Team.

Performs Patient Care tasks as directed by Registered Nurse or Physician. Demonstrates the skills and knowledge to support the accurate data collection and documentation of financial and demographic information. Participates as a Team Member, communicating respect for the patient, family, clients and other members of the Care Team. Contributes to the Management of the department by assuming specific support functions, including administrative support for patient accounts. Maintains the patient medical record, departmental records and client files.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in an outpatient health facility or physician’s office for a minimum of two (2) years
  • Must meet minimum requirements of the Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and common medical office clerical procedures
  • Knowledge of computerized billing and accounts payable systems
  • Basic knowledge of governmental and managed care programs billing requirements necessary
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of Three years (3) experience in a related field or completion of a Certified Medical Assistant course 
  • Minimum typing speed of 45 wpm
  • Completion of a certificate program in Medical Assisting or Medical Receptionist function is preferred
  • Current AHA BLS

Salary: $22.00 – $23.20 per hour
